400m final

All I can say is that I'm sort of happy to have not been in that final. Although the weather was perfect, the chinese competitor slaughtered everyone with a new world record and paralympic record of 45.01. Even if I had a personal best, I would have been in the 48's and that would have felt like a beating.

After a good night sleep, great breakfast and a fantastic push today, I think I revived the great position in my chair that has served me well, and also the map to my happy place in my heart and head. I just need to go there tomorrow. I'll pack a lunch......

Sorry to hear about your bad luck in the draw of the water drenched lane. We are anxiously looking forward to the results of the 200, one of your favorites if I recall correctly.
Good luck out there..... Uncle Rand

Thanks Ger, Rand and dad,

I think that the 200m is comming at a crucial time. I really needed both a "pick-me-up" and a stiff kick in the ass. The 200m has provided me a lot of excitment and I plan to do it well. I have a great lane (#4) and plan to rip it up......

Everday iam able to look on my arm and reflect on how much of a positive impact you've had on me. Soo go out there and destroy the competition! Then you can have an impact on the world and your competitors.

Colin it is great to be able to "be in your head" as you journey through these games. GOOD LUCK in your upcoming racing experiences ...may you go FAST and then FASTER...(which was once said by a very wise dad...!) We're rooting for you!

Hey Colin,
we're keeping up with what's going on over there. We looked for ya in the opening ceremonies, but unfortunately couldn't key in on you.
We've still got a couple of cold ones in the fridge over here, so stop by when you get back in town.
Ben says "go kill 'em"!! (I think that's what da da da da da means).

Hi Colin. What excitement for you over there. Between rain, pollution, guys in blue coats running onto tracks in the middle of a race... it sure beats Winnipeg in September for excitement! You probably won't hear from my students... certainly not from school as the division does not allow blogging... I guess you may hear from someone from home... what with all the a** kicking suggestions, I guess I'm kind of glad the kids are blocked out... watch your language out there world... you never know who will see this (that's the teacher lecture for now). We are cheering for you tomorrow. All the best, love H, B and the boys
